Aden Energies and Johnson Controls successfully grid-connect Wuxi energy storage project

The 6MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project, developed by Aden Energies in partnership with Johnson Controls, has been successfully connected to the grid and is now fully operational at the Wuxi site.

Aden Energies managed the full project lifecycle—from investment and design to construction—tailoring the system to the facility’s specific energy profile. In operation, the BESS performs intelligent peak shaving and valley filling: discharging stored power during high-tariff periods and charging during off-peak hours. This strategy is projected to optimize the plant’s load profile and deliver an estimated 12% reduction in overall electricity costs. The system also provides backup power, ensuring an uninterrupted electricity supply for critical processes during grid instability or outages, thereby enhancing operational resilience and energy security.

The successful grid connection marks a key milestone for Aden Energies in deploying commercial and industrial energy storage andVirtual Power Plant (VPP) solutions in high-end manufacturing scenarios. As an important industrial and energy hub in East China, the operational experience from this project will provide a practical foundation for integrating more distributed energy resources and developing scalable VPP clusters in the future.
